Child Growth Centile Calculator
Use this calculator to find out your child’s growth centile using World Health Organization (WHO) growth standards. Simply enter your child’s age, gender, weight and height, and we’ll show where they sit compared with other children of the same age and sex.
Growth centiles are commonly used by healthcare professionals to monitor a child’s growth pattern over time. They can help identify whether a child is growing as expected and provide useful context when choosing products such as car seats, pushchairs and other child equipment that have height or weight limits.

Understanding Growth Centiles

A centile compares your child’s measurements with those of other children of the same age and sex.
For example:
-
50th centile = average compared with the reference population
-
75th centile = taller or heavier than 75% of children and smaller than 25%
-
25th centile = taller or heavier than 25% of children and smaller than 75%
-
99th centile = among the largest children for their age
Being on a high or low centile is not necessarily a cause for concern. Children come in all shapes and sizes. Healthcare professionals are usually more interested in whether a child follows a consistent growth pattern over time rather than which centile they are on at a single point.
The World Health Organization (WHO) growth standards are widely used around the world and are based on how healthy children grow under optimal conditions.
